Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The city of brotherly love is known for many things. For the history aficionado, there is Independence Hall, the Liberty Ball, and many other historical sites are available to visit and tour. For movie buffs, there are the film sites of Rocky, National Treasure, and many of M. Night Shyamalan’s films, like The Sixth Sense. Music? Philadelphia is home to the Philly Sound and various musical acts. Groups such as the Stylistics, Teddy Pendergrass, Hall & Oates, and in recent years Jill Scott and the Roots. They all have their beginnings in the city. And what about the food? Cheesesteaks anyone? Then, there is the incredible dental practitioner, Dr. Andrew Rosenfeld, DMD.
Some may laugh, but that’s how Dandy feels about our partner dentists—they are superstars. Many are already successful, while others are beginning their journey to scale their practices. When we join them in the digital transformation of their offices by supplying tools, technology, and software that modifies and enhances their dentistry, it is a winning combination. And the patient experience only gets better when Dandy is integrated into workflows. Such was the case of Dr. Rosenfeld.
A digital transformation impact.
Dr. Rosenfeld’s practice is located on City Avenue in Philadelphia. He has owned his practice for over 32 years. With a small office staff of an office manager and hygienist, Dr. Rosenfeld has a broad offering of services doing a fair amount of crowns, bridges, and removable implants. His patient profile is diverse, with a mix of payment types, including insurance and non-insurance. A busy office, like his, needs to create efficiencies to improve time with patients and increase the number of patients seen. Dr. Rosenfeld shared that he took the leap to integrate Dandy’s intraoral scanner into his practice about six months ago. And the impact so far has been impressive.
“I’m finding I can get more done, and patients are invested in it,” Dr. Rosenfeld explained. “When they see the technology, they go, ‘Hey, that’s pretty neat.’ You know, they love it.”
He is no longer confined to the PVS impressions. Instead, the digital capability of the intraoral scanner has improved the patient’s time in the chair, and there is little need for readjustments. Dr. Rosenfeld informed us that much of the improvement lies in his ability to scan. It achieves better insights into the patient’s condition.
“You see everything that you’re doing,” Dr. Rosenfeld said, “before you go ahead and you’re prepping.” He went on to explain that using the intraoral device “makes you really prep better.”
Dr. Rosenfeld further described that he has been using his Dandy intraoral scanner frequently on full dentures and ‘immediates’ or same-day partials or dentures. “I just can’t believe how well they fit!”
The future of Dr. Rosenfeld’s digital office.
Dental practitioners often hesitate to accept Dandy’s “too good to be true” offer. But it is. We provide a fast and intuitive intraoral scanner and the accompanying software. Additionally, there is a laptop and rolling cart. The best part is that there is no upfront cost. Dentists only pay the lab fees for restorations. Dr. Rosenfeld’s opinion behind Dandy and their offering? “I did a good thing. I did it when I was a little bit older. I’d say, get into the digital age.”
When asked for his advice to other dentists who are considering Dandy, he said
“I think it’s a company that will help make it [your practice] work if you want to incorporate digital technology into your office.”

As for the future of Dr. Rosenfeld’s partnership with Dandy, he wants to learn more about our tools, technology, and educational opportunities. “I did read that you have all of these courses. And it’s something I haven’t pursued yet because of the fact of where I am in practice. But, you know, it’s something I might consider.”
We are super proud of superstar dentist Dr. Rosenfeld. His commitment to digital dentistry, education, and advocacy to other dentists about the benefits of Dandy are exciting. Now, if he could just secure a few cheesesteaks for us, too.
